One aspect of web development that's often overlooked is search engine optimization. With every website we design and build, we ensure everything is constructed in an optimized way but there are always things you can do to improve things. In this list, we'll show you some basic SEO techniques that will help you make friends with Google, and increase your search engine rankings.
Optimize your Title and Meta Tags the Correct Way
 Back in the day, meta tags were the first thing you had to take care of when dealing with SEO. Because Google and other search engines don’t rely on them as much anymore, you really should focus on the description meta tag, because that’s the one which will be displayed on the results page under the title. This is not to say that you should ignore meta tags keywords completely.
Your title tag is very important to search engines, and like your meta tags, must be relevant and descriptive to the content of your site, and shouldn’t be too long - but enough to describe what your page is about. For example, instead of:
"ABC Supplies Ltd."
Something much better would be:
"ABC's Fishing Supplies - Find the best fishing supplies in Vancouver, BC"
Make sure your Content is Keyword rich and relevant to your company
The main thing that Search Engines look at these days is the actual text content within your site. Simply put, if you're wanting to be found on Google for "Fishing Supplies in Vancouver" then you need to have this phrase or something similar placed somewhere within your site.
